Living and Loving Hawaii!

Aloha Family!
So, I think I'll make it a goal to post some stuff up here so you guys know what's going on! Sounds like a plan to me. So I'll go by picture memory to catch you up. First things first though, I've already met some celebrities here in Paradise. Jack Johnson lives not to far away from the campus. Please tell me somebody know's who he is! He's a really good singer and I love all of his songs. It was a real treat to meet him and get a picture with him. Plus, everyone on campus who didn't see him were really bummed out. Except for my Buddy Jeremiah who was like "So, I see him all the time." Whatever!

The last week of school for the summer, there was a dance. It was the closing social for First term. It was this dance at Gunstock ranch that had a cowboy theme. (It's BYU, everything has to have a theme). Anyway, I friend of mine, who I had a major crush on at the time asked me to the dance and we had a blast! There was a bon fire, dancing, a hay ride, Mechanical Bull riding (which I actually stayed on for a long time with) and best part of all... Corn Bread! Oh Dad, I miss corn bread sunday's! They are truly the best! Anyway, it was way fun and I just loved it. The boy's name is Shad, if you don't already know this and he's from El Dorado Hills, California. He played Football, basketball and Volleyball in High School and it sounds like he has a really good family. Actually, the way he describes them, his mom is just like Dad and his Dad is just like Mom. Plus his little sister, who is 16, sounds just like Krista! It's crazy! He really wants to transfer to BYU Provo after he serves a mission, but he really hasn't thought that far ahead. He's a great guy and we continued dating afterwards for awhile. We eventually decided that we kind of wanted to go steady for a lil bit, but then something just kind of disappeared. I stopped liking him and he kind of realized that he shouldn't be steady dating before his mission anyways so, it all worked out. We're still friends, although he gets a little touchy when he sees me flirting with other guys. I'm sure with time he'll cut it out.

Shad's roomate is actually probably my bestest friend out here. Ironic no? His name's Michael Garrett and he's from Virginia. However, he's a dark one cause he was born in Guatemala. He is an insane but a very funny kid. The other day, we went to the PCC cuase we have Hula together and it's an assignment to go to the PCC and report about things we've learned about the dance. Anyway, one of our friends works as a performer in the Fiji village. His name's Reggie. He's really funny. When he and Mike are together, I simply cannot breath. They both are such a hoot. I love hanging out with both of them. We just have such great times! In this pic, Reggie is going to spear me! I was so scared! But then he made a silly face and then i felt silly for being so scared! Haha!

Otherwise, life here is pretty repetative and chill. I wake up, go to class, do some homework, eat lunch, go to class again, go to work, then go finish my homework, and then go to bed. Then I get to wake up and do it all over again. Don't get me wrong, it's tons of fun, I just really have nothing to report! But I love you all! Tonight was different... kind of. I went to the Volleyball game right after work with George (his real name's Nate, but that's not what I call him) and his friend Sam. Then afterwards, we met up with Jeremiah and went to Open Mic Night. It was fun. I really like listening to different people sing. It's fun to see all the variety. The best was when George got up and sang this naughty song, but he changed the lyrics so it was just silly. We took a picture, but he wasn't looking. I'll put it up anways!
So I am having a good time, and I'll eventually come up with better stories and better pictures! Love you all!

I'm an adult!

I am officially 18! My Birthday was Friday and I had the time of my life! To begin my day, I had Spanish. Sure I had a final, but I wasn't going to let that ruin my day! I was kind of stressing out about the Final, but then my Teacher must have sensed that it was my birthday and I really needed a good present! ;) So my Teacher said that we had the choice between going out in the hall and finishing the final by ourselves, or staying in the classroom and working with the whole class to finish and hopefully pass the final. I stayed and I was overjoyed! And I actually learned so much from the little review we all did!

After Spanish I had Orchestra. In there, our final was making and eating breakfast! We had muffins, pancakes, bacon, sausage, juice, milk and doughnuts! It was so much fun. Unfortunately, we couldn't leave the classroom because it was technically a final so, Taylor and I were stuck. We still had fun. A couple of days earlier, I had to make a PowerPoint presentation to earn some points for orchestra, so I presented that during class too. Next was Choir. Once again, we had a final. It wasn't too hard and I didn't worry too much about it. If you understand music, then you'll go far in a choir class. Usually after choir, I would have Government and Citizenship but today was a special day and we didn't have to go to Fourth period!

So instead, Megan Braithwaite, Steven Potter and I went to Snoasis to get Glaciers! (They're like snow cones with ice-cream in the bottom and whipped cream on top). I got a Strawberry Dacquire and it was delicious! After that I had to run to Kohlers to get some treats for my Birthday sleepover later that night! I met up with one of my fellow Laurels and she was so excited when she found out my birthday. She was really sweet about it!

Right after that, I went to pick up my Date for my Birthday Date! I was soooo excited. When I got to Stephen's house, he was worried about what kind of restaurant Tucanos was. He'd never been there and was unsure. Lol. I told him it was a party kind of place, but he still grabbed a collared shirt, which I warned him he might ruin. Anyway, we left and stopped by Costco to get gas! That was fun because we donated a dollar to help a children's hospital and received a water bottle for our charity! It was great!

We got to Tucanos alot earlier than Katrina, Ryan, Kamryn, Kelsey and Zac so we had to wait around a little, but that's not a bad thing. It was tons of fun! Finally they came and we were soon seated! Ryan wasn't there yet, but the rest of us were starving and I was excited to introduce Stephen to Tucanos. I couldn't believe he'd never been there before! It's such a fun place! And so delicious! I really stuff myself whenever I go! So so so Fun! And guess what, he dripped water on his shirt! Sure it didn't ruin it, but I did tell him that he would do something to it! Ha ha! ;)
After Tucanos, we went to Katrina and Ryan's Apartment and played Games. We played Taboo for awhile and lots of funny things happened. (I don't want to embarass anyone, say Stephen, so I'll just leave it at that). After Taboo we played this arm slapping game. That was fun too. Then we played Signs. I love signs. It's hilarious! Everyone shows their true colors in that game! Ha ha! After signs, Stephen and I had to go because I had to get to my sleepover. But before the sleepover, Stephen and I headed over to this new Frozen Yogurt place called Red Mango. I had tried it the night before and overall liked it, so I wanted Stephen to try it! I think he liked it well enough! He finished mine when I couldn't! Ha ha! Then I took Stephen home. Unfortunately I am physically incapable of just saying goodbye to Stephen, I spent another half hour talking to him! Lol. Everytime! Not that it's a bad thing....but I was late for my own party!
I finally made it to my house after i went and picked up my Friend Tabby. When I got there, there were three girls waiting for me. We sat and talked for a long time before the rest of the girls came over. When we finished talking, we watched two episodes of Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends. It's the funniest show ever! After that, we had Pie and sang happy birthday too me! I blew out all but two candles. (I've already decided who they are). Then I opened all these awesome presents. But the coolest present was my graduation/birthday present from my parents. Drumroll............A LAPTOP! Which I'm using right now! Yay! I was so happy! It's so High tech and I feel so old when i use it! Yay me!
After presents, we started playing the foot game! It's an awesome game and (not to Brag) I'm really good at it! Stephen came over around that time and played with all us girls. Usually, he's one of the first ones out, but this time... He Won! I was Shocked! And against me! Urgh! Next time...he's going down! Ha ha!
The rest of the night was really fun! I had so much fun! I was really happy and I just couldn't stop smiling! This was definitely a Birthday to remember!

Fozen Solid Strep

On a Wednesday morning, I woke up feeling awful! I was mad because it was the week I didn't have to go to school until 10:00! With the Sophomores testing and all, my friends and I were going to party every morning by sleeping in and going to breakfast! But no! I had to get sick. So whenever I'm sick, me and my mom go to the doctor and everything is totally fine. This time however, I had strep. Being the adult that I am, I got the shot. Afterwards I went home and I tried to rest it off. The next day, I still wasn't feeling very good. The Doctor had told us that I'd be ship shape on Friday, so I waited for that. No such luck. I felt a little better but I still could not talk normal, my nose was stuffy and I kept getting headaches. Then her comes Saturday. I had work in the morning and went. BAD IDEA! I felt sick when I got home and took a nap. When I woke up, I went to Sweethearts. WORSE IDEA! By the end of the dance I was feeling so sick I thought I was going to die.
So I was supposed to get better on Friday but instead of curring the Strep, I got a cold on the way. And the cold is not, not, not, going away! I am still sick. But I need to face the world again and start going to school and work. I just hope there's not much I have to make up! That would be the only wonderful thing about this past week! haha.
