Living and Loving Hawaii!

Aloha Family!
So, I think I'll make it a goal to post some stuff up here so you guys know what's going on! Sounds like a plan to me. So I'll go by picture memory to catch you up. First things first though, I've already met some celebrities here in Paradise. Jack Johnson lives not to far away from the campus. Please tell me somebody know's who he is! He's a really good singer and I love all of his songs. It was a real treat to meet him and get a picture with him. Plus, everyone on campus who didn't see him were really bummed out. Except for my Buddy Jeremiah who was like "So, I see him all the time." Whatever!

The last week of school for the summer, there was a dance. It was the closing social for First term. It was this dance at Gunstock ranch that had a cowboy theme. (It's BYU, everything has to have a theme). Anyway, I friend of mine, who I had a major crush on at the time asked me to the dance and we had a blast! There was a bon fire, dancing, a hay ride, Mechanical Bull riding (which I actually stayed on for a long time with) and best part of all... Corn Bread! Oh Dad, I miss corn bread sunday's! They are truly the best! Anyway, it was way fun and I just loved it. The boy's name is Shad, if you don't already know this and he's from El Dorado Hills, California. He played Football, basketball and Volleyball in High School and it sounds like he has a really good family. Actually, the way he describes them, his mom is just like Dad and his Dad is just like Mom. Plus his little sister, who is 16, sounds just like Krista! It's crazy! He really wants to transfer to BYU Provo after he serves a mission, but he really hasn't thought that far ahead. He's a great guy and we continued dating afterwards for awhile. We eventually decided that we kind of wanted to go steady for a lil bit, but then something just kind of disappeared. I stopped liking him and he kind of realized that he shouldn't be steady dating before his mission anyways so, it all worked out. We're still friends, although he gets a little touchy when he sees me flirting with other guys. I'm sure with time he'll cut it out.

Shad's roomate is actually probably my bestest friend out here. Ironic no? His name's Michael Garrett and he's from Virginia. However, he's a dark one cause he was born in Guatemala. He is an insane but a very funny kid. The other day, we went to the PCC cuase we have Hula together and it's an assignment to go to the PCC and report about things we've learned about the dance. Anyway, one of our friends works as a performer in the Fiji village. His name's Reggie. He's really funny. When he and Mike are together, I simply cannot breath. They both are such a hoot. I love hanging out with both of them. We just have such great times! In this pic, Reggie is going to spear me! I was so scared! But then he made a silly face and then i felt silly for being so scared! Haha!

Otherwise, life here is pretty repetative and chill. I wake up, go to class, do some homework, eat lunch, go to class again, go to work, then go finish my homework, and then go to bed. Then I get to wake up and do it all over again. Don't get me wrong, it's tons of fun, I just really have nothing to report! But I love you all! Tonight was different... kind of. I went to the Volleyball game right after work with George (his real name's Nate, but that's not what I call him) and his friend Sam. Then afterwards, we met up with Jeremiah and went to Open Mic Night. It was fun. I really like listening to different people sing. It's fun to see all the variety. The best was when George got up and sang this naughty song, but he changed the lyrics so it was just silly. We took a picture, but he wasn't looking. I'll put it up anways!
So I am having a good time, and I'll eventually come up with better stories and better pictures! Love you all!
